Captain Denny's Place

This is the 68 Volkswagon.. I had a 1969 same colour as this one.. but no rag top roof.. Mine had a shifter that you had to shift but no clutch.. was wild.. loved that car!..

Eating at the restaurant in North Harbour Maine, oh oh the fish was so good there...

Ok.. was doing the Pipi thing with my hair.. it was a hot day....

Having a rest at Captain Denny's

I forgot to add the pictures.. I was having a Pipi day with my hair cause it was so so so hot.. was a great restaurant we stopped in tho.. here are the intruder pictures for evidence that we were there...

Bar Harbour, Maine

Well Bar Harbour was HOT!.. but we went into it, its a tourist trap that is for sure.. but very nicely kept.. there are alot of boats there.. We took a break and sat on the waterfront as you can see here.. We also went to North Harbour, where Dan left a note for Captain Denny and took a little break on his deck.. lol.. was a wonderful day with my husband..

Last time I seen a ship that big was with Dan on Day one of our relationship in Cape Breton, we thought it was Paul McCarney's since he was in town and that was the rumor.. this one was just as big!

Cadillac Mountain in Maine

Well... we went to Atlanticade Motorcycle Rally for our first run with the trailer.. and it was fun and our new experience.  It worked out great, and our neighbor with a trailer kept hauling people over to look at it because Dan did such a great job.  Im telling you, it is so comfortable, and it poured with rain and we stayed inside and drank coffee and watched the laptop and just got some good ol fashion rest.. something we are not used to.. was wonderful.  Only problem is when you are gone for sometime, the heat really bakes it inside.. all you have to do is open it up and waaaaalaaaaa fresh air and it cools it off fast.  Was great!.. we bought a broom, a fan and some washing stuff.. and got the packing up down to about 45 minutes.

Just before we left St. Andrews by the Sea, we met a lovely lady called Lilly that said she caught us on the wharf... and video taped us.. she made a special effort to come to St. Stephens to tell us that we were on the wharf and that only one time of year the water raises enough for the boats to come in and they have 12 hours to get back out.. was very cool.. she gaves us her card and we went and checked out her blog.. that is what gave me this idea to input into our own.. how cool is that.. thank you Lilly..

Now, off we go to Maine, through the tiny tiny customs .. that I didnt think we would get through the stalls.. but we made it and were puzzled at how small they were.. what about them big ol trucks that come through.. ?  So off to Maine we go, and we found the first camp spot we could.. at something Pond in Clifford Maine.. it was a great spot.. lots of local campers in there. and I wish I had taken more pictures of where we were at.. we just come in set up and then we want to ride.. so it rained all night, but by the time we got up and around we had a glorious day.. off to Bar Harbour and North Harbour to Cadallac Mountain.  That is one nice ride up and one nice ride down.. we had a perfect day.. We didnt get to meet Captain Denny, but what a sweet little town that North Harbour is.. the haddock was great at the restaurant, and we actually got to see a nice yellow VW just a year older than the one I had many years ago..

So then we wound our ways back through to Clifford on a back highway.. was a nice ride through the woods.. I wouldnt want to do in the dark tho, but it cut off all of the Brewer and Bangor down town traffic.. so it was perfect.. we got home just before dark.... Then rested up and got ourselves ready to run into the Harley Shop.. that is where we got the stickers that Dan put on the trailer  Just to snaz it up a little more.. was great.. we also got a Flag that we can use with the trailer.. very cool...

Ok.. so we are on the road again.... off to Grand Falls NB

We had a great drive to Grand Falls.. and Dan had booked ahead of time.. so it was great that we got there in time to unload the bikes and then set up the trailer.. Dan the smart man set up the deck for us to sit out and maybe read, and enjoy the relaxation.. we no sooner got out there. .and I looked behind us and there was a huge big black cloud.. hmmmm didnt look good.. so Dan decided to put the covers on the motorcycles.. no sooner was he trying to do that and we got hit with a freak storm.. The storm came in so fast.. we got everything inside including ourselves and then the storm hit.. freakishly high winds and then the pounding down rain.. the covers wouldnt even stay on the bikes.. so we just left them off.. and sat inside the trailer not saying a word to each other.. That Dan.. he only said.. " do we have the axe in here?"  lol.. was wild let me tell you.. so we decided to just watch a little tv and wait it out.. It was over as quick as it started, so out to the deck we go again..

This is a picture of  bike that the lady that was ruding the campsite rode.. nice!... and they were having a poker run that afternoon.. like... yipppeee biker friendly..... was a great campsite..

Great Grand Falls...

These are the Falls in Grand Falls NB.. it was nice there.. there was a zipper ride that you could do across the falls.. not my thing.. but I dont mind watching.. was a gorgeous day out.. and we did enjoy ourselves.. while we were there.. we decided to check into the border crossing.. to see how far it was to the other side.. we had the day ahead of us.. so why not check out the US of A... so we left from here to go to Maine..

Look at my handsome biker husband .. I love this shot.. but there is a better one coming.... :)

There is Dan on the deck... what a great idea... While Dan was sitting out there.. one of the campers came over and asked us to join their fire.. most there were French.. so it was a French fire.. and it was funny because he knew Dan's Dad.. from many years ago.. or someone in the family.. I think it was his dad tho.. He also gave us a heads up on a great bike weekend just 5 minutes from Pierreville that we may check out next year if we take our vacation later on in the summer.. He was quite the gabber..

There is my no helmut Dan.. on his way to the bathroom... took his bike because he to go.. and he had to go NOW!

See its really not that far.. just down the end of this road.. but he was in a hurry..

There he is.. back all shined up and clean...... still no helmut!!

Skipping over the US border to Maine

Well we decided to test out the border and see if we had any problems with Dan and his patch for the club... well it wasnt far from Grand Falls and waaalaaa we were at the border.. we both rode up together and the border cop couldnt have been nicer.. hows things going, you should go here, I love Nova Scotia.. blah blah blah.. was so wrapped up in our conversation, that he forgot to get the information from my pastport and Dan had already started ahead of me.. he couldnt have been nicer.. it was rather refreshing... so off we go to Maine.. was a beautiful day for a sleeveless ride.. and we decided after about an hour to stop at Tim  Hortons for a coffee.. and there was this guy waving his arms at us telling us to come over to the park... so up we go, and to our amazement.. it was a beautiful park setting just for bikers.. was one of the stops for the 4 corners of the United States.. there are four points, one in the North, South, East and West.. and there we were.. you have to do it in 21 days.. and we will do it in 2014... it was awesome, and alot of work and volunteering went into this place.. we met Joe right there in the park.. right time right place.. look below...

This is Joe Lechance.. he started all this in Madawaska, was such a nice guy... he showed us around and gave us the history.. what a great find that day!

This is the monument that stands there.
You can have a BBQ if you want to when you are there.. its all set up to gooooo

There are pavers for people that have completed the four corners.. here is one of an 82 year old women that has done it 5 times.. how cool is that!

No helmut laws in Maine

There goes my hunny.. no helmet

Here he come with no helmut.. but it was actually just crossing the street to come to my bike on the other side.....  :)

We even got a Certificate of Award.. just being at one Corner!

Here me and Dan were given certificates by Joe himself for visiting one of the four corners of the United States.. how cool is that.. was a great time there... The website I should check out and post one of these days.. there was alot of work put into this one that is for sure.. wish we had something like that here in Nova Scotia.. would be very cool...

This is Vince a little boy that lives on that same street, and loves the bikes.. he comes over occasionally, but has many things  wrong with alot of the organs in his system.. if he reaches the age of 16 Roger is going to buy him a bike..

There is the happy couple with their bikes at the four corners.

So where is Canada from here.. just over there... see the smoke stack.. lol.. that was funny... nice place actually
